Foyer space: Anna Cocks – Mythology (MONA)

 

Mythology (MONA) is a collection of new works by Anna Cocks. The exhibition is inspired by Anna’s experience of working at MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) for the previous two years and comes as a need to express some of her thoughts and feelings towards particular artworks. Working ‘with’ artworks is a curious situation and relationships cannot help but be formed after so much time together. Witnessing others’ reactions is also insightful as one stands in the darkened spaces and quietly observes. These predominantly text-based works will draw on these experiences as well as respond to some of the commentary that surrounds particular artworks.

The exhibition aims to expand and explore Anna’s personal responses and relationships to the artworks that ‘speak’ to her in the most interesting ways in order to better understand art and how we experience it.
