Foyer space: Samara McIlroy – Engagement: a dialogue

 

In 2012, Samara McIlroy used the Paddy Lyn Memorial space in her desperate attempts to initiate dialogue between socially-engaged artists in Hobart and the international arts community. The artist had hoped that the dialogue would take place in Portland, Oregon, at the annual Open Engagement Conference, but was unsuccessful in her attempts to attract interest from Conference organisers in her project or funding to attend. This year, the artist (entirely self-funded) will actually be attending the Open Engagement conference in Portland, Oregon. She will again attempt to engage the international arts community in some form of exchange with artists in Hobart. Updates will be posted in the gallery foyer and on social media.
